LEGIONELLA TRAINING

FOR ITALIAN FACILITIES

Structured English-language training on Italian Legionella regulations, risk assessment methodology, water system management and corrective-action protocols — for facility managers, EHS teams and international operators managing Italian assets.

What you will learn

Six core learning outcomes

After completing our training programme, participants will be equipped to manage Legionella compliance for Italian facilities independently — including English-language reporting for international head offices.

  • Understand the Italian Legionella regulatory framework and specific obligations for your facility type

  • Conduct or oversee a structured Legionella risk assessment compliant with national guidelines

  • Implement and document a water management plan that satisfies DVR Legionella requirements

  • Commission ACCREDIA-accredited sampling and interpret certified laboratory results

  • Execute corrective action and ASL notification protocols following a positive result

  • Maintain English-language compliance documentation for international head-office reporting

Common questions

Training FAQ

Five answers on legal requirements, audience, language, certificates and combined engagements.

Is Legionella training legally required in Italy?

Italian law does not impose a standalone mandatory 'Legionella training certificate' in the same way as, for example, fire safety. However, Legislative Decree 81/2008 (the Italian Workplace Health and Safety Act) requires employers to train staff on biological risk factors, which explicitly includes Legionella in facilities with risk-classified water systems. Structured training is also integral to a defensible DVR Legionella risk assessment document.

Who should attend Legionella training?

The primary audience is facility managers, RSPP (Responsible for Prevention and Protection Services) officers, maintenance supervisors, and HSE directors responsible for hotels, nursing homes, hospitals, condominiums, gyms or industrial facilities in Italy. International EHS managers at corporate HQ are particularly encouraged to attend the dedicated 'Managing Italian Facilities from Abroad' module.

Are your training sessions available in English?

Yes. All modules listed on this page are delivered in English. We specifically serve international operators managing Italian assets who need to understand the regulatory framework, brief local teams and structure English-language compliance reporting for their head office.

Do participants receive a certificate of completion?

A certificate of attendance is issued to each participant on completion of a module. This certificate is not a regulatory licence but provides documented evidence of competence development useful for DVR Legionella audits and internal ESG or EHS reporting.

Can training be combined with a site risk assessment?

Yes, and this is often the most efficient approach. A joint engagement combines an on-site technical survey with a tailored training session for your facility team on the same visit, significantly reducing cost and disruption. Contact us for a combined quote.
